Point Loma Summer Concerts is launching Rocking the Point, a virtual concert highlighting local Junior Bands and supporting music education. The performance will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 6 pm PST and streamed on the Point Loma Summer Concerts' social media pages and website. The bands will perform at Rock and Roll San Diego, who will also stream the performance on their social networks.
Rocking the Point will also be a fundraiser to support music education in Point Loma schools and programs. There will be raffle prizes that viewers can participate in by donating or voting for their favorite bands. Votes are $5/each for any of the bands in the competition.
"We look forward to holding our first ever virtual concert and highlighting many talented junior bands from our community," said Point Loma Summer Concerts Chair Kerri De Rosier. "We wanted to give our junior bands the opportunity to headline our show, and have them share the excitement with their families, friends, and summer concerts fans from the community and beyond. "
